The New York Rangers defeated the New York Islanders by a final score of 2-1 in the second game of the NHL Stadium Series played outdoors in front of a capacity crowd at Yankee Stadium on January 29, 2014. The rink was centered over the baseball infield which was entirely covered by a coating of snow that provided the perfect backdrop for the first outdoor hockey series played at Yankee Stadium.
Rangers’ goaltender Henrik Lundqvist played solidly in front of the net and was named first star of the game. Dan Carcillo scored the game-winning goal early in the third period for the New York Rangers.
Meta4 Communications provided complete photographic coverage including the player introductions, national anthem, game action and background images of Yankee Stadium for use by the National Hockey League and distribution to social media outlets.
